The Lewin Fund to Fight Women’s Cancer is proud to support Dr. Panagiotis (Panos) Konstantinopoulos, Director of Translation Research, Gynecologic Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Dr. Konstantinopoulos is conducting a non-randomized two-stage Phase 2 trial in two cohorts of endometrial cancer patients to test a combination targeted therapy approach in order to overcome the problem of resistance to hormonal therapy in this disease.
Established a Transportation Fund at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC to aid underserved women with rides to their medical and chemotherapy appointments.
Our support also spans the world through our work with the Global Focus on Cancer, a nonprofit that trains women in developing countries. This organization has promoted cancer awareness and support for women in a number of nations. A program in DaNang, Vietnam, in August created 12 clinicians’ champions and trained 30 cancer survivors to be new trainers for the program. The training included clinicians/social workers from a number of hospitals and the cancer survivor groups associated with each institution.
