Our Focuses

Quality of Life Improvement
We invest in grassroots programs that directly impact women battling cancer, their families, and their communities
Previous Initiatives:
- Cancer Survivor’s Day: On June 29, 2018, The Lewin Fund joined Holy Name Medical Center, and more than 150 cancer survivors to celebrate their courageous journey
Preventative Strategies
We invest in grassroots programs that directly impact and educate women battling cancer, their families, and their communities.
Previous Initiatives:
- Annual Latina Summit: We sponsor an early educational event to address Latina women’s questions/concerns about Gynecologic Cancers. Meeting presented in Spanish in partnership with Gilda’s Club, Mount Sinai Hospital, and LatinaSHARE.
- Global Focus on Cancer in Vietnam: Peer to Peer Training Program in collaboration with Woman to Woman and Global Focus on Cancer
- Own Your Health Panel: The Lewin Fund presented a free event to the public on November 12th, 2017: Own Your Health Power Panel.
- Living Fearless Wellness Symposium: A thought-provoking discussion on wellness and cancer prevention. Learn about cutting-edge screening, nutrition, genetics, treatment, and more.

Innovative Research

We sponsor cutting-edge research projects that improve the quality of life for women and their families — and bring us closer to finding cures.
Previous Initiatives:
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute:
- Uterine Carcinoma Research: A $100,000 gift to support cutting-edge research on uterine cancer under the direction of Dr. Joyce Liu, MD, MPH, as part of Dana-Farber’s campaign to advance gynecologic oncology.
- Uterine Cancer Research: An earlier $50,000 grant to support the work of Dr. Panos Konstantinopoulos, MD, PhD on uterine cancer.
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center – Ovarian Cancer Genetic Sequencing: Support for next-generation sequencing research focused on a rare form of ovarian cancer, led by an international team with a principal investigator from MSKCC.
Judith Ehm Foundation: Research into the benefits of acupuncture for gynecologic cancer patients, in partnership with the Judith Ehm Foundation.
