Quality of Life Improvement
At The Lewin Fund to Fight Women’s Cancers, we invest in grassroots programs that make a direct and lasting impact on women battling cancer, their families, and their communities. From mental health care to transportation assistance, our goal is simple: to ease the burden of treatment and recovery so patients can focus on healing.
Community Events
Since our founding in 2014, The Lewin Fund to Fight Women’s Cancers has proudly supported events that uplift and empower both patients and survivors – offering opportunities to connect with peer networks, access vital resources, and build a strong sense of community
Cancer Survivor’s Day (2018, 2025)
In partnership with Holy Name Medical Center, we celebrated the journeys of over 150 courageous survivors with a day of joy, reflection, and community.

Woman to Woman Semi-Annual Reunions
Support semiannual reunion events that not only provide needed companionship but also education from well-renowned speakers.
Initiatives
We collaborate with trusted partners and institutions to fund life-changing programs that remove barriers to care and support the emotional, physical, and financial well-being of women with cancer.

Mental Health Support
BOLD Brothers and Sisters Program
A peer support initiative for teens and young adults with a mother or grandmother with cancer. Since the program’s launch, it has engaged 40+ children with peer one-on-one mentoring and support. This program includes mentorship, focus groups, and community-building activities to meet community needs that have long been neglected.
Woman to Woman Program’s Support Program
This flagship gynecologic oncology program pairs newly diagnosed patients with trained survivor volunteers for emotional support, while also providing access to integrative therapies such as nutrition counseling and behavioral health care.
-
Transportation Support
In partnership with the Woman to Woman Program at Mount Sinai, we provide transportation for underserved women to reach chemotherapy appointments—a lifeline for patients facing financial hardship. In 2019, this initiative supported 20 women with safe and reliable rides to and from treatment.
-
Household Support
We provide food pantry access and small grants to help women cover critical utility and living expenses while undergoing treatment.
-
Fertility Preservation
We fund specialized programs that assist young women diagnosed with ovarian cancer in exploring fertility-sparing treatment options – one of the few initiatives in this field.
